  1. Register your account, filling out the registration form (see this FAQ for more details).
  2. Log into your email account. A validation email will be sent to your email address. Things to Remember
  • You need some PATIENCE when registering. The staff must review your account before you will be allowed to proceed. If you try to rush, your account will become stuck.
  • If you posted in the Your Hogwarts Letter before your post in the Character Role Call thread was made visible, your account will become stuck.
  • If your account becomes stuck, you MUST wait 24 hours before reporting it to staff. We will be continually reviewing all new accounts during registration weekend and the week after, so in all likelihood, we'll discover your problem and fix it before then, so keep checking your account to see if it becomes un-stuck.

Character Masterlist Entry: Smit-McPhee, Kodi - Charlie Ormond

-----------

200 Words on family history:

Viola Milleaux and Arcturus Ormond were both born into very traditional pureblood families. The healer and the alchemist met shortly after leaving Hogwarts, and their young love became an enduring relationship and the start of a new family. Charlie Ormond is the eldest of their three children.

Viola and Arcturus both struggled under the expectations of their families as children and young adults, objecting to many of the beliefs and views they were expected to take for granted. They have always wanted their children to have a different upbringing to theirs, and so while pureblood, Charlie's parents have worked very hard to distance themselves from the elitist attitudes of his grandparents. They encourage their children to be curious and think for themselves. Charlie's grandparents - particularly on his maternal side - deeply disapprove of the way Viola and Arcturus are raising their children, and are not afraid of saying so. Every summer, Charlie and his siblings visit their maternal grandparents' manor house in France for a few weeks, and without fail his grandmother makes it her mission to instil in her grandchildren some respect for the history, tradition and culture of the family. So far - at least when it comes to Charlie - her efforts are failing miserably.

Existing relationships to on board characters: None.

100 words on personality: Charlie's parents have always encouraged him to ask why and to think for himself, and he's very good at it, looking for a reason or an explanation in everything. He has a certain respect for authority, as long as he can see the reasoning behind what he's being told to do - if that reason isn't clear to him, he has no problems making up his own version of the rules. As the eldest child, he often falls into the role of the leader, but isn't very good at recognising where the line between 'leader' and 'bossy' falls. He likes quidditch, animals, and chocolate frog cards, and hates brussel sprouts with the fire and passion of a thousand burning suns.

Character Masterlist Entry: Dyer, Natalia - Oriana Byrne

-----------

200 Words on family history: There are some couples that are methodical in how they join their lives. There are then those couples who jump without much thought of what happens should they crash. Luckily for Oriana’s parents, they managed to jump without pause and land together stronger than before. They had their issues together, to be sure, but they managed to work through them and still stay with one another. They stood beside each other for three years, enjoying their somewhat boring life, before welcoming a new member to their clan.

Oriana was almost too good to be true, quiet and well mannered as an infant. They thought they had hit some sort of lottery with her as she wasn’t one to put up much of a fuss unless she was in need of something. As she grew, they began to realize that this was only partially true as she discovered her own way of things. She was still quiet and mellow most of the time but grew into a fiercely independent and questioning streak that could often times put a damper on things. She also grew into a voice that could be quite loud if she disagreed on the subject or became too excited, which could be rather unexpected for those who really only ever saw her quiet side. Still, through this all, they viewed themselves as rather gifted with their first child.

The small family seemed set for life, on their way to welcoming a fourth member, when they were struck with tragedy. It was shortly after Oriana’s sibling was born that their mother was victim to a car crash that would take her life. With her sudden death, something Oriana herself often has trouble remembering, their little family was left incomplete. This would leave her father reeling for several years, struggling to care for two children and grieve the loss of his wife.

Oriana would be about eight before another prominent female figure entered their lives and stay. This woman, just as with her mother, captured her father’s heart quickly and didn’t let go; despite his past relationship and the responsibility of his two children. Oriana herself wasn’t to keen on the woman at first, hesitant to trust and build a relationship with this stranger, but would eventually warm to her. Within a few short years, she would view her as a good mother and welcome a half sibling as well.

The turning point in her views of her father's new wife was her acceptance to all the strange things that seemed to happen around Oriana. Oriana herself always found a way to chalk them up to odd occurrences, misunderstandings, or simple slips of the mind whenever she found herself particularly stressed or anxious. It wouldn’t be until shortly after her eleventh birthday that she would come to understand that it had been so much more than that.

Existing relationships to on board characters:

100 words on personality: There isn’t anything that Oriana won’t try to do herself time and again before asking for help. When she finally does ask for help, it’s only because she’s realized that she can’t possibly accomplish the task on her own. This has spurred on an active obsession with reading, as it usually doesn’t take anyone’s help to accomplish, and a rather loud opinion on many subjects as a result. While that might hint at an attitude towards others or overall obnoxious, Oriana can be rather reserved and quiet most of the time, intent to learn, listen, and question everything around her. Though somewhat shy, she attaches to people deeply and can be quite loyal if she’s made a great friend; almost to the point of being blinded.

Character Name: Genevieve Abernathy
Have you read and understood the rules of this board?: Yes
Character Face: Emily VanCamp
Character Masterlist Entry: VanCamp, Emily – Genevieve Abernathy

-----------

200 Words on family history:

It started as a business partnership, and blossomed into an arranged marriage.

Greer Goodknight of the United States married Tadgh Abernathy of Scotland, moving there soon after the marriage. Though it was arranged, the marriage was a happy one, as the two had met each other at various functions of their fathers', and as such, the marriage produced four children – three boys, and one daughter, Genevieve.

Tadgh and Greer were constantly busy with their work as an attorney and a healer respectively, but always tried to make time for their children, showering them with love and affection before hurrying off to their next busy shifts.

Genevieve grew spoiled and slightly selfish. Being doted on as the only daughter among three sons meant she had to do what she could to show that she didn't need to be protected all the time, and it worked, sometimes. Much of her early life was spent with her Abernathy relatives, as most of Greer's family lived in the United States. However, Greer's brother traveled to Scotland often, so the children were still connected with their relatives.

Then her uncle, who was living in France at the time, adopted a daughter, and in an instant, Genevieve was no longer the youngest, no longer the cutest. She no longer had all of the attention doted upon her. What made it worse for young Genevieve was the fact that the baby was not of pure blood. Despite this, her uncle was allowed to remain as the heir to the Goodknight family, a fact that enraged Greer to no end. As such, Genevieve was influenced by her mother, and a bitter dislike for the young girl was formed, and something in Genevieve changed from then on – she became ambitious, determined to be the perfect pureblood heiress, and better than her cousin in every way.

Because of this uproar in the Goodknight family, Tadgh tried to spend more time with his own family and circle of friends, and Genevieve did eventually learn what it was like to spend time with other girls, becoming friends with a number of them. However, she does not like her cousin, even if she learned to hide her distaste for the younger girl.

When her brothers started going to Hogwarts, Genevieve was able to receive more individual attention from her parents while they were gone, but as they returned and told stories of their classes, or clubs, Genevieve plotted each way she would be different, feeling like she has to be in order to truly prove herself to the family.

And she desperately hopes to take Hogwarts by storm.

Existing relationships to on board characters: None
100 words on personality:

A purist who believes in pureblood supremacy, Genevieve is also someone who tries not to be too outwardly snooty about it – she feels that outwardly acting like a purist would only perpetuate the stereotype that she herself would rather not carry, even if she is deeply entrenched in the mindset of one, and does fiercely believe she is better than those not of pure blood.

Outside of her supremacy, Genevieve is very much a curious, bright, bubbly girl, however, Genevieve is extremely ambitious and determined to create a name for herself, which can lead to her shoving people out of the way if it means getting what she wants – even someone of the same status she holds. Growing up as the youngest, Genevieve often tried to take on a leadership role, which didn't often work, although that desire to be a leader was still inside of her. While she does look down on people and creatures that aren't pureblood, Genevieve did develop a fondness for house-elves, growing close to Blossom, her family's house-elf during her parents' busy times at work.

-----------

200 Words on family history:
Wesley (Jinyoung) Kang was born in Busan, South Korea, to Yoongi Kang and Yuri Moon, before his father's work moved the family over to London when he was three-years-old. There, Wesley integrated quickly into the British pureblood circle and led around his own crew of young pureblood heirs. Even from a young age, he was a very confident child and didn't easily take to other people's instructions, so being a leader was a natural step. However, when Wesley was nine, his father disappeared and rumours spread swiftly about his father being involved in shady business dealings. As his father worked for a large corporation dealing with international magical art and culture, it was a big scandal amongst society, and even despite his mother's insistent denials that her husband was like that, society still ostracised his family and he lost all of his friends in the ensuing scandal. In that same year, his younger sister, Mina Kang, was born and she became his only source of light through all the anger he holds for his father and society. Wesley took it upon himself to be the sole protector of his family and he basically raised Mina from the day she was born up until the present time, as his mother suddenly had to find work without his father around. From an arrogant spoiled child, Wesley had to grow up quickly in order to take on all the responsibilities of his family.

Existing relationships to on board characters: N/A

100 words on personality:
Wesley is a very confident child. He used to be arrogant but these days, it's less arrogance and just a confident sense of self. He still struggles with the pre-adolescent insecurities every young boy faces, but he has too much on his shoulders to really pay much attention to them. He is loving, protective and fiercely loyal to the people he loves, which as it stands, are only his sister and mother. After everything he went through, Wesley is distrustful of strangers and has no desire to make friends. He only wants to study hard and get a high-paying job to take care of his family. Everything he does is calculated towards that goal.

-----------

200 Words on family history: The Lloyd part of Lemon's family come from a long line of purebloods, growing in size with each generation with most of the family stationed at Salazar's Peak. The Llewellyn part of her ancestry is a pureblood family, that is currently slowly rising on the ranks of society. The marriage between Jasper Llewellyn and Eunice Lloyd was a favour done between the patriarchs of the two families, as Jasper's father once saved Eunice's father in a duel with a bunch of bloodtraitors. The Llewellyn-Lloyd's live on Salazar's Peak in one of the smaller manor houses, as Eunice's brother Clifford inherited the grand Lloyd estate.

Eunice, being the middle one, has a complicated relationship with her siblings. Clifford being groomed to become the next head of the family and with Claudia getting divorced and skipping off on adventures. Eunice puts all her effort into making sure that the Llewellyn-Lloyds will rise in esteem among their peers (and within her own family) and she has started by sweeping in front of her own front door and make Lemon the best Lloyd-child she could possible be.

Lemon has a good relationship with her family on both sides. She spends a lot of time with her Llewellyn cousins when they are in town and are often attending the same parties as her Lloyd cousins.

The little girl with the red hair, is known throughout her family for the love of colours and she cried when she found out, that at Hogwarts people will mostly be wearing blacks and greys. Having grown up with family the same age, Lemon likes to be a part of a pack and doesn't like doing stuff on her own, believing everything gets better when your numbers are higher. She likes to collect people, even the ones her mother hisses at her to make great bends around, but Lemon keeps many of her acquaintances secret to her parents.

Character Name: Salazar Sand
Have you read and understood the rules of this board?: Yes!
Character Face: Steffan Argus
Character Masterlist Entry: Argus, Steffan - Salazar Sand

-----------

200 Words on family history: For Salazar, his family history is very easy to sum up: he doesn’t know a thing about it. He was taken into care at around four years old when his mother died and no other family could be found. Sometimes he thinks he can remember little slices of her, curly hair just like this, a wild laugh, and a sweet, soft voice singing him to sleep. But he’s not sure if he just made that up in his head.

He’s been living with the same foster family for the past three years, in a nice home just outside London with several other children. He wonders a lot about his real family, the mother who died and the father who nobody’s ever known anything about, but nothing’s ever come of it.

In truth, Salazar comes from an old family and is the sole heir of Silas Sand, a pureblood patriarch with very traditional views on blood-purity and a frightening taste for experimental magic. His wife stole away in the middle of the night with their son and he’s not seen either of them since, though not through lack of trying; Ana Sand was no fool. She knew that the one place her husband would never think to look for their son would be the muggle world.

Of course, Salazar knows nothing about that; apart from the fact that his name is a little unusual, he has no idea that he’s any different from any other regular boy his age.

Existing relationships to on board characters: None

100 words on personality: Salazar is driven first and foremost by an insatiable desire for adventure and mystery. He doesn’t care what it is or how it ends up, or who he ropes in along the way. His foster carers have found it best to personally walk him all the way to school and back, otherwise he ends up distracted by something and winds up two towns over with a black mark on his school record for missing class again.

He’s a generally very cheerful boy who likes to laugh and much prefers play to work. He’ll befriend anyone and everyone and is difficult to offend as he takes nearly everything as a joke of some kind.

Character Masterlist Entry: Tunney, Robin - Ruby McPherson

-----------

200 Words on family history: The McPherson family is an old one in Scotland. It was a pureblood family for centuries. Work was beneath them. They lived off investments made off the money their ancestors accumulated as nobility. In short, it was a family of snobs. After the Battle of Hogwarts, life became difficult for families like the McPhersons. An eye of suspicion was cast on the family due to their associations and rigid compliance to pureblood marriages. Their investments suffered greatly over the years until there was barely enough left to live on. Ruby’s grandmother Anneliese refused to pretend that she needed something so common as a job. She kept her only child, Cecelia dressed in the finest robes, sent her to Beauxbatons, and trained her to be an elite. Cecelia received little in the way of a practical education. So, when the McPhersons went bankrupt, Cecelia was completely unequipped to make a living. Fortunately, she met Robert Keith. He was a half-blood wizard who was dazzled by Cecelia’s fragile beauty and worked hard to keep her bubble intact. Sadly, he died in an accident in the muggle world. Anneliese took over Cecelia’s life again, helping her to raise Robert’s daughter Ruby and demanding that Ruby take on the McPherson family name.
Existing relationships to on board characters: N/A
100 words on personality: Ruby idolizes the father who died when she was just a baby because her mother tells her about all the happy memories they had together. She sees the harsh way her grandmother treats her mother, and detests the toxic snobbery at root of it. She sees the fragility of her mother and strives to be as strong as possible, no one’s fool. She thinks that if she can become a truly great witch and work hard like her father, perhaps she can escape this “Great Expectations” type atmosphere her grandmother has upheld and live perhaps a normal, happy life somewhere far away.

200 Words on family history:
Min-seo Kwon was raised in a very traditional pureblood family in Korea with two brothers gifted with magic while she herself turned out to be a squib. Her father loved her dearly and didn’t want to disown her even if his wife believed that she brought shame on their family. When her mother ran away, taking her oldest brother with her, it was a catalyst for Min-seo to convince her father to disown her in an attempt to reconcile the family; if only for the sake of her two brothers. So at the age of nineteen she moved into the muggle world in England and tried to live a life as an ordinary muggle. At twenty-six she met a handsome muggle man and the two of them instantly fell in love. Together they had a child called Leone and lived fairly happily as muggles until at the age of seven when their precious son started to show signs of magic. This brought on the discovery of Min-seo's past and fractured their relationship to the point where he abandoned them and left her as a single mother. Leone grew up raised in public as a muggle and in private with knowledge about the magical world as his mother saw the potential of him being able to return to the family and be accepted in a way that she never was.

Existing relationships to on board characters:
Devon Kwon – cousin

100 words on personality:
Leone is a quirky boy who has a very curious mind and loves exploring. The world is his playground and no adventure is too small. Sometimes he can be brutally honest in his quest to find answers to his questions that he can come off as rude without meaning to. When his mother told him that magic was real, he felt instantly intrigued and wanted to learn all about it. However, when he discovered that his mother was shunned due to being a squib and that it was part of the reason as to why his father left them, Leone started to doubt if magic really was that great. He’s still feeling torn between wanting to explore the magical world and its society and trying to understand why his mother isn’t welcomed in it.

Character Masterlist Entry: Lourd, Billie- Savannah Sare

-----------

200 Words on family history: Savannah, unlike her brother, was the more wanted child of a proper society marriage.

Her mother, Romilly Paisley, ran off to be with the son of her jeweler for her first marriage, but then grew bored of struggling to make things work in a lower class lifestyle. After Lorcan was born, Romilly went back to society and married Savannah's father, Narcissus Sare, a proper society wizard. Savannah was born some years after, and for a while the three of them were a perfect happy family. Soon, however, Lorcan’s father died. With nowhere else to go, Lorcan came to live with the Sare’s and Savannah gained a brother. The two had little interaction due to their ages and the short period of time they lived fully together, as Lorcan went to Hogwarts a year after moving in.

Savannah and Lorcan both received the highest quality their mother could afford for anything and everything, but their mother was rarely around. Climbing into society occupied most of the Sare’s time, and the children were left to their own devices with various nannies and tutors. Savannah and Lorcan never had the proper time to bond, but Romilly is unconcerned as Lorcan is still a reminder of family embarrassment.

Existing relationships to on board characters: Lorcan Paisley- half brother

100 words on personality: Savannah enjoyed life when she was an only child, and normally prefers when Lorcan is away at school. She does not hate her brother, but she doesn’t like how he stands to remind everyone that her mother made bad decisions in her youth. Savannah is determined to not follow in those footsteps, and so devotes much of her free time to practicing all the skills a young rich witch should know. Namely, gossiping and forming fake friendships with people who would be useful. She is excited to go to school and learn proper magic. Although she would not admit it to anyone, part of her is also happy she will get a chance to see more of Lorcan where it won’t matter whose son he is. He is part of her life, and she knows she needs to form a bond with him before it’s too late.

Character Name: Paige Symond
Have you read and understood the rules of this board?:Yes!
Character Face: Barbara Palvin
Character Masterlist Entry: Palvin, Barbara - Paige Symond

-----------

200 Words on family history:

Paige Symond has a large family with a lot of cousins; many of whom she hadn't even met spread across the globe. She is the oldest of three siblings - all girls - in her close family. Paige's youngest sister is named Allison, and her middle sister is named Rose, which is a family name that has been passed down throughout her mother's side of the family for generations.

Her mother, Ariane O'Dougald, was a well known alchemist at St. Mungos before she gave up her career to be a stay at home mother to her children. Her father, Christopher Palvin was very adamant that the girls learn to play Quidditch at a young age, because despite never going to the professional leagues, Mr. Palvin is a Quidditch fanatic. He now works at the Ministry of Magic.

The Symond family is a middle-class Pureblood family that enjoys the comfort of a solid income, but doesn't concern themselves with the airs of Pureblood society. Though their name is old in Wizarding England, Ariane and Christopher never wanted any of their daughters to feel self important. They received a good upbringing because of their parents insistence on a solid education, and the three sisters are all incredibly close to one another, despite the gaps in age, and Paige is sad to be leaving them.

Existing relationships to on board characters:
Melissa Macintosh -- Cousin

100 words on personality:

Out of all her siblings, Paige is by far the quietest -- she takes after her mother in that her favourite place is the study of her parent's home, which was lined with books and cozy. She enjoys annoying her siblings, though, and people rarely expect her to love practical jokes as much as she does because of how quiet she tends to be. Paige is rather scared of large animals, but she likes the idea of them in theory. She loves the idea of a lot of things, in fact, without ever having tried them. Paige is, above all, a person who likes the aesthetic nature of something far more than she likes its factual existence.

If she had a choice, Paige would plan her life according to a five year plan at all times, but that isn't practical so she sticks to a two year plan instead. She claims she wants to be a brilliant novelist when she is older, and join the ranks of many classical magical authors.

Character Masterlist Entry: Jamil, Jameela - Tatiana Ross

-----------

200 Words on family history: Tia was born to a Scottish father (Ethan) and an Indian mother (Jaya) in London, where her mother and father had met at university. Only a year after Tia was born, the family moved to a tiny village on the Norfolk coast, with her parents wanting to bring up their baby away from the noise and pollution of the capital. Tia grew up loving the sea and the countryside, but spent much of her time alone. The primary school in her village had only around 10 students at any one time, and never any of her age group. She was friends with all of the other children, but preferred her own company for the most part.

Her dad worked as a fireman, based in the nearest town. When Tia was 8, her mother was offered a new job as a diplomat on the Indian sub-continent, and since then has spent months at a time away from home. Tia misses her mother terribly, but her father dotes on her, and so do both sets of grandparents who visit from Glasgow and London. They are responsible for keeping her in touch with her traditional roots, taking her to both ceilidhs and bhangra events, and feeding her a delicious mix of tablet and lentil curries.

Existing relationships to on board characters: none

100 words on personality: Tia, while not shy, is very happy to stay within her own bubble and not talk to people for hours. She spends a large amount of time reading, and she is a particular fan of Roald Dahl. The rest of her time is spent with her imaginary friend, Rhea, who has a physical form of a tiny peg doll that is always in a pocket. Due to the lack of other children to play with, Tia hasn't really grown out of her imaginary friend, who is very much like a sibling.

She is tall and gangly, and generally not in control of her limbs unless she is swimming. She feels a lot more co-ordinated and calm in the water, especially in the sea. Otherwise, she can come across as a little frantic, because there is normally little need for her to speak in a way which others can understand (and her parents are more than used to her 100-mile-an-hour approach to communication).

200 Words on family history: Love is always a funny thing. When Marion first met Maximilian, she thought her love for him would never die. After a brief, passionate summer love in London, the young couple eloped and moved to Austria, the land that Max called home. Marion believed that love would be enough to keep a marriage happy, this being particularly true when each of her three children were born; however, life has a way to prove us wrong, even if we ignore the early signs.

Married life is never easy and, more often than not, Marion found herself doubtful and lost. Even so, she remained true to her husband and her vows. This, however, changed drastically the day that she discovered her husband's affair. After a decade of marriage, sacrifice and blind trust, this kind of betrayal had no justification and Marion decided to take her kids to the city that she would always call home, London.

Since the last September, the Jaritz kids have been living with their mother in their grandparents' summer house, and being visited sporadically by their father. Michaela is now faced with the terrible situation of having to attend Hogwarts instead of Beauxbatons, where all of her friends would be going. Her relationship with her mother is strangled and she misses her father and friends too much.

Existing relationships to on board characters: N/A

100 words on personality: Michaela was raised to be a polite, highly educated young lady. She is fluent in German, French and English, and she has excellent skills playing the piano, as well as playing chess. She has a sharp mind, but she usually keeps a lot of her thoughts to herself, as she knows how much words can hurt. Her mind is always busy with wandering thoughts and she can usually be caught with her nose stuck between the pages of a book.

On her good days, Michaela is nice and well intentioned, although on her bad days, she can be hurtful and a real pain in the butt. She loves her family deeply and is very affected by her parents' divorce. At the time being, it is hard for her to express anything else other than hatred and resentment, especially towards her mother, who she blames for the breakup of their family and for taking her away from her father, friends, and everything that she ever knew and loved.
